Chumuckla Springs RV Resort: Where History Flows and Time Slows

Nestled along the Escambia River, Chumuckla Springs RV Resort invites you to own a piece of Florida’s forgotten past — in a gated, members-only, riverside community built around the healing waters that once drew visitors from around the world.

Before you settle in, a quick backstory…

Long before highways cut through pine forests and the buzz of modern life filled the air, people journeyed across oceans and swamps to reach a single destination: Chumuckla Springs.

Ponce de León came to Florida in search of the Fountain of Youth. What they found here felt close.

They came by steamship from Europe. Then by wagon through dense woods. Not for luxury — but for healing.

They called it Chumuckla — “Chum” meaning healing, “uckla” meaning water — a name that carried the very promise people came seeking.

Drawn by waters rich in minerals, rumored to cure everything from joint pain and ulcers to skin conditions and chronic fatigue, travelers bathed in a shallow spring-fed pool built right into the land. Cabins lined the path. A glass pavilion stood over the bubbling spring. And even Davy Crockett himself once stood here.

Today, those same springs still rise from the earth — and for the first time in decades, their story is being written again…

Welcome to Chumuckla Springs RV Resort:

A private, cabin-only community on the Escambia River, designed for those who appreciate the beauty of a simpler time — and the chance to own a piece of Florida’s forgotten past.

With limited cabins available, this is your opportunity to plant roots where the river winds, the air is clean, and the spring-fed waters of Mineral Springs still whisper stories from generations past (often referred to locally as “Mineral Springs” due to the area’s historic healing waters).

And with our rental program available, your cabin can offer both restful escapes and meaningful returns.

In 1924, you could order Chumuckla Springs Water by the container — and get your money back if it didn’t work.

Modern comfort. Historical character.

Chumuckla Springs RV Resort was built with one goal in mind: to restore the soul without sacrificing the essentials.

Here, you’ll find the kind of simple pleasures and thoughtful details that make you slow down and stay a while — whether you’re kayaking down the Escambia, relaxing by our lazy river-style pool, or just sipping coffee with the sunrise.

Each cabin site (waterfront & interior) includes:

  • Dedicated access to standard RV pads

  • RV pads accommodate 5th wheels, campers, and buses

  • Full sewer and water hookups

  • 30/50-amp electrical service

  • Concrete pads and paved roads

  • WiFi throughout the resort

  • Private, gated entry for members only

  • Access to our full, on-site store

And while the world-famous mineral spring water still flows just steps away, so does the peace of knowing you’ve got everything you need right at home.

Long before highways and hashtags, Chumuckla’s mineral water was delivered by wagon — trusted for its purity, bottled for its promise.

This photo from the early 1900s shows R.F. Jernigan Dairy proudly sourcing from the springs that still flow today.

At Chumuckla Springs, we’re not just offering weekend getaways.

We’re offering something rarer: the chance to own your own riverside cabin — on historic land, beside healing mineral waters, in a private, gated community unlike anything else in the Florida Panhandle.

Here’s how it works…

  • 1. Choose Your Cabin

Select from a range of fully built park model cabins — whether you're dreaming of a cozy 1-bedroom escape or a spacious 2- or 3-bedroom retreat. Each one is thoughtfully placed along the Escambia River or near the mineral springs for maximum peace and privacy.

  • 2. Secure Your Pad

Your cabin comes with a 12-month guaranteed lease on its RV site, with the option to renew for up to 5 additional years. You’re not just buying a cabin — you're securing your place in this exclusive, members-only community.

  • 3. Make It Yours

This isn't a short-term rental or vacation hustle. It's your opportunity to own a quiet corner of Florida’s most storied spring — a place to unplug, slow down, and return to what matters.

And with only 10 cabins available, this is a first-come, first-served opportunity.

Join an exclusive community where history runs deep and the pace runs slow.

Own a cabin. Earn from the springs.

Imagine this: a peaceful retreat on the river that's all yours — and it pays for itself while you're away.

When you purchase a cabin at Chumuckla Springs, you’re not just buying a getaway… you’re investing in a one-of-a-kind legacy.

Our optional rental program makes it easy to turn your cabin into a steady income stream, without the hassle of managing it yourself. We’ll handle the bookings, guest services, and upkeep — you simply enjoy the benefits.

Whether it’s your seasonal escape or a long-term investment, your cabin can work for you even when you’re not here.

Vacation when you want. Rent when you don’t.
Own your slice of the springs — and let it help fund your future.

Life at Chumuckla Springs isn’t scheduled. It’s savored.

Wake up with the sun pouring through your cabin window and the sound of the Escambia River just beyond your porch. Paddle out before breakfast, or take your time with a second cup of coffee while mist still hangs over the water.

Wander beneath tall pines. Wade through the spring water like generations before you. And when night falls, trade stories by the fire under a sky full of stars — the kind you forgot you could see.

This isn’t just a place to visit.

It’s a return to what matters.
